Hotel & Travel

TSA Wait Times

Recent travel conditions have made airport security lines less predictable, particularly at busy hubs like Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. While average wait times can be relatively short, travelers have experienced longer lines during peak periods, especially in the mornings and on high-traffic travel days. Nationwide, staffing challenges and increased passenger volume have led to occasional delays and sudden spikes in wait times, with some airports reporting significantly longer screening lines than usual.

To avoid any added stress, attendees are strongly encouraged to arrive at the airport early and allow extra time for security screening. Even when lines appear manageable, wait times can change quickly, so planning ahead will help ensure a smooth departure experience.

Dallas Weather/Climate

April is a great time to visit Dallas as the weather warms up and the city begins to fully embrace spring. You can expect plenty of sunshine mixed with mild, comfortable temperatures, making it an ideal time to explore. Spring in Dallas can bring occasional rain showers and even the chance of a thunderstorm, so it’s a good idea to pack a light rain jacket or umbrella just in case.

The average daily temperature in Dallas during April typically ranges from around 15°C (59°F) to 26°C (79°F). These conditions are perfect for enjoying outdoor activities, whether that’s strolling through local parks, exploring neighborhoods, or taking in the city’s lively dining and entertainment scene. Evenings tend to cool down to around 13°C (55°F), so bringing a light jacket or sweater will help keep you comfortable after sunset.

Dress Code

The 2026 SACUBO Annual Convention is a business casual event. Comfortable slacks, polos, button-downs, blouses, and dresses are all great options. While the Texas weather will be warm, meeting rooms can sometimes run on the cooler side. We recommend bringing a light sweater or jacket so you’re comfortable throughout the day. Some rain is in the forecast, so be sure to pack a raincoat just in case.
